The next generation Audi A4 was spied recently, the sedan has been on test from quite some time. The next-gen Audi A4 is code named B9 internally. In the recent spy shots, though the test mule is fully camouflaged but it reveals how the new LED head and tail lights will look like!
Speaking of the same, the next-gen A4 will ride on the second generation of MLB platform - MLB EVO that debuted with the 2015 Audi Q7. And it will be longer than the on-going car since Audi has introduced the A3 sedan which sits below the A4. The new A4 will be lighter than the on-going car, courtesy to multi-material construction - 2016 A4 is on a strict diet similar to that of the new Q7. Expect it to be approximately 100 kg lighter than the current A4 (B8).
Interiors of the 2016 A4 will draw inspirations from the latest Audi’s and like the new TT and Q7 it will feature the 12.3-inch digital instrumentation cluster which is powered by Nvidia graphics.
Mechanically, the new A4 will get the uprated powertrain globally - 1.4, 1.8 and 2.0 - TFSI and 1.6, 2.0 TDI, along with the powerful 3.0 TFSI and 3.0 TDI. Moreover, 2016 A4 could also get the new 2.0-liter 240 PS Bi-turbo TDI that debuted with the 2015 Passat. Speaking in context to India - Audi is expect to continue with the current engine options - 2.0L TDI and 1.8L TFSI, in their updated form.
