Chevrolet India is ready to spruce-up it's Sail-duo range, both Sail and Sail U-VA facelift will be launched on 24th of September; the company is teasing the pictures online. As the festive season is starting from 24th of September, GM has updated these cars to boost their sales, prices are likely to remain unaltered despite of few additions. Sail sedan will compete with compact sedans like Xcent, Dzire, Amaze and Zest and few other entry level sedans like Ford Classic and Toyota Etios. While Sail U-VA competes with Ford Figo, Hyundai Grand i10, Maruti Suzuki Swift, etc.
Speaking of the changes, from the teaser images it seems like the main focus is on interiors of the cars. Both the cars are getting a new 2-din audio system which feature Beat like blue-back-lit and Bluetooth connectivity. Audio system features a black treatment, so expect the Sail-duos to get new black and beige dashboard compared to current drab-looking lighter shade one. Apart from these, exteriors of the cars will receive subtle changes.
Mechanically, both the facelifts are likely to retain the current engine setup. Sail and Sail U-VA are powered by a 1.2 liter petrol and 1.3 liter diesel SMARTECH engines. The 1.2 liter petrol belts out 84.8bhp @ 6000rpm and 113Nm of torque at 5000rpm. The 1.3 liter Fiat derived Multijet diesel pumps out 76.9bhp at 4000rpm and a peak torque of 205Nm at 1750rpm. Both the engines are mated to a five-speed manual transmission and delivers 18.1km/l for petrol and 22.1km/l for diesel.
