Jaguar Land Rover has opened their first showroom in Nagpur, Maharashtra. The dealership is operated through West Midlands Cars (P) Ltd. and is located at D-3, MIDC, Hingna Road, Nagpur and has a fully equipped workshop with highly-trained technicians. The showroom will display the complete range of Jaguar Land Rover products, including the Jaguar XF, XJ, XKR and F-TYPE and Land Rover’s Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, Range Rover Evoque, Discovery 4 and Freelander 2.
Mr. Rohit Suri, Vice President, Jaguar Land Rover India, said “I am delighted to be opening a new showroom in Nagpur. This fourth showroom in the State of Maharashtra, reiterates our commitment to tap the growing potential of premium car market and strengthens our foothold in the region. This 3S facility in Nagpur stands out as one of the best among premium car dealerships in the city.”
Meanwhile, Jaguar Land Rover has been doing good numbers on the sales front globally. The company retailed over 37,171 vehicles in April 2014 posting a growth of 30% over the same month last year. Jaguar sold a total of 5,511 vehicles and Land Rover sold 31,660 vehicles posting a growth of 17% and 33% respectively in April 2014. For the first four months of 2014, Jaguar Land Rover sold 161,947 vehicles, up by 12% over last year. Of that, Jaguar sold 29,542 vehicles posting a growth of 19% while Land Rover 132,405 vehicles recording 11% growth.
Commenting on the April performance Andy Goss, Jaguar Land Rover Group Sales Operations Director said: “April sales continue the positive momentum we saw in the first quarter of 2014. Alongside the F-TYPE, all three Range Rover models delivered record April sales performances reflecting the global appeal of our strongest ever vehicle line up.”
Jaguar Land Rover has also been expanding its dealership network in India. Last month, the company opened its first dealership in Raipur, Chhattisgarh and it is the largest among the premium car dealerships in the state. Jaguar also started the local production of their flagship model, XJ. The locally assembled XJ is now available with a 3.0l diesel engine and is priced INR 92.10 lakhs, making it the most affordable luxury saloon in its segment.
Jaguar is also getting ready to launch their all-new mid-size sports sedan, Jaguar XE, which will be unveiled at the upcoming Paris Motor Show and the global roll-out is set to begin in mid-2015. The Jaguar XE will be the first car from Jaguar and in its segment to get an all aluminium monocoque chassis. The XE will also be the first car to be powered by the company’s Ingenium range of engines.
