Mahindra eVerito Variants Explained

The Mahindra e2o need not take on this cruel world of fossil fuel-powered cars alone anymore. Joking aside, the Indian automaker has finally launched the eVerito, with prices ranging between Rs 9.50 to Rs 10 lakh. With this four-door sedan, Mahindra is offering more practicality (5 seats + 510 litres of boot space) than the e2o two-door hatchback.

The car is based on the slow-selling Verito and is offered in 3 variants, priced within Rs 25000 of each other. Here’s a quick look at what you get with each variant.

D2 (Base) – Priced at Rs 9.50 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi

Since this is the entry-level variant, it comes only with basic features like body coloured bumpers, door handles and wing mirrors, along with steel wheels and black body side cladding. Inside, the car gets an air conditioner, power windows, a 12V charging socket for the front passengers, a rear demister, height-adjustable front seatbelts and the door auto lock function.

D4 (Mid) – Priced at Rs 9.75 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi

The D4 gets all the features of the D2 and adds alloy wheels, a chrome-accented front grille, a 2-DIN sound system that includes AUX and USB connectivity, electrically adjustable wing mirrors, keyless-entry and a different upholstery design.

D6 (Top) – Priced at Rs 10 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi

The range-topping D6 grade gets all the features of the D4 and adds just one very useful feature i.e. the fast charge system. The eVerito’s 200 Ah battery needs around 8 hours and 45 minutes to reach a 100 per cent charge that can give it a claimed range of around 110km. With the fast charging feature however, it can reach an 80 per cent charge in just 1 hour and 45 minutes.

All variants of the eVerito get the same three-phase 72V electric motor that produces 41PS of power and 91Nm of torque. Also included as standard are regenerative braking, the ‘ECO’ and ‘BOOST’ drive modes and telematics that give owners monthly statistics on charging patterns, distance travelled, fuel and CO2 saved etc. Electric cars don’t need multiple gears and the sedan uses a single speed, direct drive transmission.

Stopping power comes from disc brakes up front and drums at the rear, and while you do get the hill-hold feature that prevents the car from rolling back on inclines, ABS is not offered on any variant! Nope, you don’t get airbags even as an option, which is rather alarming, considering the fact that this car is capable of hitting a top speed of 86 kmph.

The Mahindra eVerito can be purchased from select Mahindra dealerships in key cities including New Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Pune, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Hyderabad, Jaipur and Nagpur. The sedan comes with a 3 year/36000km battery warranty and 2 year/40000km vehicle warranty.
