Mercedes-Benz to launch the S350 CDI on 5th June

Intensifying this product offensive further, Mercedes-Benz India is now launching the much awaited diesel mill in the S-Class. The much awaited ‘Made in India’ S 350 CDI will complete the S-Class’ offering for Indian customers and will make the new S-Class even more attractive. The launch of the S 350 CDI will accompany a couple of more announcements at the Chakan plant.

The new S-Class was launched at the start of the year in January and that was the S500, which had taken the CBU route to India. The S500’s assembly had began recently and now the company is planning the CKD of the S350 that will be launched very soon.

The equipment list on the new S-Class is never ending. You can get everything made as per your taste. The COMAND system is now connected to the internet too, and there is a WLAN HotSpot. The S-Class App is compatible on iOS and Android devices to control massage, seat AC etc from the phone if you don’t wish to use the remote. Apart from 360 camera, infrared night vision, digital dials, parking assist, the new S-Class has temperature controlled cup holders, folding tables, illuminated storage space, two high-resolution TFT screens at the rear and one in the front. Burmester surround sound system with a total of 24 speakers producing 1540W of sound.

Recently we reported that the S-Class will get a couple of more features. The new features will be Touchpad and Linguatronic. The touchpad will be approx. 65 x 45 mm in size, which will recognise single and multiple-finger gestures, swiping movements and pinching gestures to zoom in or out. Users are able to input letters, special characters and numbers in their normal handwriting. The touchpad will have 3 buttons located behind the touchpad that will allow for fast and direct operation of important functions. The touchpad will be available on the S500 only and Linguatronic will made available on the S500 and the S350 CDI. The S-Class is at the moment available only as S500, soon we will see the S350 CDI to be make available as well.

Expect Mercedes-Benz to soon double its Chakan plant capacity to 20,000 units and soon we shall see the CLA 45 AMG available in the Indian market. The GLA-Class and C-Class will also land on Indian shores this year itself. This will help the company to increase its sales figures.
