Next Gen Mahindra Scorpio Launched at INR 7.98 Lakh

The homegrown manufacturer Mahindra finally launched the Scorpio facelift at Rs 7.98 lakh while the top end model S 10 is priced at Rs 11.46 lakh (Ex-Showroom, Mumbai). The 2014 Scorpio facelift is available in 6 variants-S2, S4, S6, S6+, S8 and top-of-the-line S10. The SUV also features two new color shades- Molten RED and Regal Blue. The bookings have already started across the Mahindra dealerships. The SUV lock horns with recently launched Renault AWD and Tata Safari.

The updated SUV features interesting updates such as new swept back headlamps, day-time-running-LEDs, vertical slat grille while rear gets D shaped LED taillamp cluster. It gets a new touch screen infotainment system while some features like rain and light sensors are carried forward along with cruise control and TyreTronics.

Mahindra has uprated the engine to extract more power while fuel efficiency is also increased to 15.37 kmpl. The SUV gets m2DiCr and 2.2 mHawk diesel engine which produces 120bhp and 280Nm of torque and is mated to a five speed manual gearbox, no automatic for now. The AWD drive model will also be made available in few weeks.
