Tata Motors had introduced the emax range of vehicles at HorizoNext and some of the CNG variants are already available off the shelf. Tata Indigo eCS is another product in the emax range and we spotted one of their test mules. The Indigo eCS is at the moment available with a 1.2-litre petrol and a 1.4-litre diesel engine.
The CNG variant comes the 1.2-litre petrol engine that will produce 55bhp of power instead of 64bhp. This comes mated to a five-speed manual transmission. The Indigo eCS is a compact sedan and Tata Motors created this segment. Now, this segment gets a lot more products that are more premium like the Maruti Suzuki DZire, Honda Amaze and the Hyundai XCent.
The Tata Indigo eCS has a 60-litre CNG tank (water filling capacity) and a petrol tank of 42 litres. Tata Motors continues to test the emax variant of the Indigo eCS and we catch one of their test mules.
