Australia Stocks end steady

Australian equity market finished session virtually flat after surrendering early gains on Thursday, 07 September 2017, hurt by declines in consumer staples and healthcare stocks. At the close, the S&P/ASX 200 index finished 0.17 point higher at 5,689.90. Total 2.8 billion shares were traded today worth a well above average A$6.1 billion. 564 stocks rose, 550 fell and 413 finished unchanged.
