Auto stocks edge lower

Auto stocks were trading in red, with the S&P BSE Auto index decreasing 145.75 points or 0.77% at 18799.88 at 13:47 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Auto index, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd (down 3.29%), Eicher Motors Ltd (down 1.78%),Balkrishna Industries Ltd (down 1.52%),Tata Motors Ltd (down 1.38%),Ashok Leyland Ltd (down 1.37%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were TVS Motor Company Ltd (down 1.3%), Bajaj Auto Ltd (down 0.52%), and Apollo Tyres Ltd (down 0.34%).

On the other hand, Cummins India Ltd (up 1.28%), Bosch Ltd (up 0.93%), and Exide Industries Ltd (up 0.62%) turned up.

At 13:47 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 41.42 or 0.1% at 40087.63.

The Nifty 50 index was down 3.75 points or 0.03% at 11873.7.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 67.37 points or 0.5% at 13625.42.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 18.34 points or 0.39% at 4706.49.

On BSE,1307 shares were trading in green, 1101 were trading in red and 183 were unchanged.
