Nifty December 2016 futures trade at premium

Turnover drops

The Nifty December 2016 futures traded at 8,056, a premium of 53.70 points compared with the Nifty's closing of 8,002.30 in the cash market. The November 2016 futures on the Nifty 50 index traded at 8,017.90, a premium of 15.60 points compared with the Nifty's closing in the cash market. Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures & options (F&O) segment dropped to Rs 4.96 lakh crore from Rs 5.69 lakh crore yesterday, 21 November 2016.

In the cash market, the Nifty 50 index rose 73.20 points or 0.92% to settle at 8,002.30, its highest closing level since 18 November 2016.

State Bank of India (SBI), Vedanta, HDFC Bank, Yes Bank, and ICICI Bank were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE. SBI November 2016 futures traded at 258.20, near spot closing of 258. Vedanta November 2016 futures traded at 207.85, at a discount from spot closing of 207.95. HDFC Bank November 2016 futures traded at 1200.55, at a premium compared with spot closing of 1199.

Yes Bank November 2016 futures traded at 1135.80, at a premium over spot closing of 1133.90. ICICI Bank November 2016 futures traded at 264, at a premium over spot closing of 263.40.

The November 2016 F&O contracts are set to expire on Thursday, 24 November 2016. The December 2016 F&O contracts are set to expire on 29 December 2016.
