Turnover jumps
Nifty May 2014 futures were at 6902, at a premium of 61.20 points over spot closing of 6840.80. Turnover on NSE's futures & options (F&O) segment surged to Rs 328626.47 crore from Rs 216362.92 crore on Tuesday, 22 April 2014.
HDFC Bank May 2014 futures were at 749, at a premium over spot closing of 737.90.
ICICI Bank May 2014 futures were at 1305.75, at a premium over spot closing of 1299.70.
United Spirits May 2014 futures were at 2852.45, at a premium over spot closing of 2826.40.
In the spot market, the 50-unit CNX Nifty rose 25.45 points or 0.37% to settle at 6,840.80, a record closing high.
The May 2014 derivatives contracts expire on 29 May 2014. The April 2014 derivatives contracts expired today, 23 April 2014
