Turnover drops
Nifty May 2014 futures were at 6874, at a premium of 56.35 points over spot closing of 6817.65. Nifty April 2014 futures were at 6827.20, near spot closing. Turnover on NSE's futures & options (F&O) segment declined to Rs 195231.61 crore from Rs 222666.73 crore on Thursday, 17 April 2014. The stock market was closed on Friday, 18 April 2014, on account of Good Friday.
State Bank of India April 2014 futures were at 2076, at a premium over spot closing of 2074.50.
Biocon April 2014 futures were at 499.80, at a premium over spot closing of 497.
Sesa Sterlite April 2014 futures were at 200.80, near spot closing of 199.75.
In the spot market, the 50-unit CNX Nifty rose 38.25 points or 0.56% to settle at 6,817.65, a record closing high.
The May 2014 derivatives contracts expire on 29 May 2014. The near-month April 2014 derivatives contracts expire on Wednesday, 23 April 2014.
