Quick Wrap: Nifty Auto Index registers a drop of 1.88%

Nifty Auto index closed down 1.88% at 7284 today. The index has added 6.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Tata Motors Ltd fell 4.76%, Bosch Ltd dropped 3.44% and TVS Motor Company Ltd slipped 3.39%. The Nifty Auto index has decreased 32.00% over last one year compared to the 3.40% fall in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Energy index has slid 1.24% and Nifty Consumption index has slid 1.02% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has slid 0.48% to close at 10982.8 while the SENSEX has declined 0.45% to close at 37104.28 today.
