Tata Power gains after turnaround in Q3

Tata Power Company rose 3.95% to Rs 90.75 at 15:25 IST on BSE after the company reported consolidated net profit of Rs 197.74 crore in Q3 December 2014 compared with consolidated net loss of Rs 74.91 crore in Q3 December 2013.

The company announced Q3 result during market hours today, 4 February 2015.

Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex was down 133.66 points, or 0.46%, to 28,866.48.

On BSE, so far 11.95 lakh shares were traded in the counter, compared with an average volume of 3.94 lakh shares in the past one quarter.

Shares of power generation and distribution company hit a high of Rs 91.90 and a low of Rs 87.80 so far during the day. The stock hit a 52-week high of Rs 115.25 on 9 June 2014. The stock hit a 52-week low of Rs 69 on 4 February 2014.

Tata Power Company's total income rose 8.31% to Rs 9321.34 crore in Q3 December 2014 over Q3 December 2013.
