RIL, SBI, Bajaj Finance top traded F&O contracts
The Nifty October 2019 futures were at 11,672.00, a premium 10.15 points compared with the Nifty's closing of 11,661.85 in the cash market.
Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures & options (F&O) segment was Rs 7.45 lakh crore compared with Rs 26.50 lakh crore reported in the previous session.
In the cash market, the Nifty 50 index rose 75.5 points or 0.65% to settle at 11,661.85.
The NSE's India VIX, a gauge of market's expectation of volatility over the near term, inched 0.58% higher at 15.97. NSE India VIX will close below 16 for second day.
On the options front, the Nifty option chain for 31 October 2019 expiry showed maximum call open interest (OI) of 20.63 lakh contracts at the 12,000 strike price. Maximum put OI of 30.75 lakh contracts was seen at 11,000 strike price. Options data suggested a trading range between 11,000 and 12,000 levels for the Nifty in October series.
Reliance Industries (RIL), State Bank of India (SBI) and Bajaj Finance were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE. RIL October 2019 futures were at 1,418 compared with spot closing price of 1,416. SBI October 2019 futures were at 269.40, compared with spot closing price of 269.20. Bajaj Finance October 2019 futures were at 4153, compared with spot closing price of 4139.
The October 2019 F&O contracts expire on 31 October 2019.
