Volumes jump at Greaves Cotton counter

Rain Commodities, Zydus Wellness, Nestle India and Ranbaxy Laboratories are among the other stocks to see a surge in volumes on BSE today, 14 May 2013.

Greaves Cotton clocked volume of 7.86 lakh shares by 13:44 IST on BSE, a 60.58-times surge over two-week average daily volume of 13,000 shares. The stock rose 3.46% to Rs 71.85.

Rain Commodities notched up volume of 19.18 lakh shares, a 58.43-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 33,000 shares. The stock lost 4.93% to Rs 45.30 after consolidated net profit declined 39.6% to Rs 111.58 crore on 88.2% growth in net sales to Rs 2740.07 crore in Q1 March 2013 over Q1 March 2012. The Q1 result was announced after market hours on Monday, 13 May 2013.

Zydus Wellness saw volume of 2.37 lakh shares, a 45.96-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 5,000 shares. The stock surged 10.65% at Rs 550, with the stock extending Monday's 5.98% rally triggered by the company reporting strong Q4 earnings.

Nestle India clocked volume of 41,000 shares, a 8.48-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 5,000 shares. The stock rose 0.34% to Rs 4,870.

Ranbaxy Laboratories saw volume of 4.95 lakh shares, a 5.35-fold rise over two-week average daily volume of 93,000 shares. The stock rose 2.1% to Rs 448.80 after the company agreed to pay $500-million penalty to the US government to settle criminal and civil charges on it.
