Volumes jump at Natco Pharma counter

Jyothy Laboratories, Cairn India, Reliance Industrial Infrastructure and SKS Microfinance are among the other stocks to see a surge in volumes on BSE today, 1 April 2014.

Natco Pharma clocked volume of 2.80 lakh shares by 12:33 IST on BSE, a 67.36-times surge over two-week average daily volume of 4,000 shares. The stock slumped 15.56% to Rs 673 after the company announced that the US Supreme Court agreed to hear appeal in a patent fight on Copaxone. The company said it continues to believe that Teva's 808 patent is invalid for indefiniteness. The announcement was made during trading hours today, 1 April 2014.

Jyothy Laboratories notched up volume of 3.02 lakh shares, a 30.48-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 10,000 shares. The stock fell 2.04% to Rs 203.75.

Cairn India saw volume of 6.65 lakh shares, a 10.92-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 61,000 shares. The stock rose 3.37% to Rs 344.

Reliance Industrial Infrastructure clocked volume of 5.51 lakh shares, a 4.53-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 1.22 lakh shares. The stock jumped 5.36% to Rs 405.85.

SKS Microfinance saw volume of 5.85 lakh shares, a 3.91-fold rise over two-week average daily volume of 1.49 lakh shares. The stock jumped 4.91% to Rs 214.90.
