A total of 14 Taliban militants were captured in Afghanistan's Takhar province, the National Directorate of Security (NDS) said on Saturday.
Taliban militants Najib-ul-Rhaman and Mullah Shukrullah were captured in Darqad district along with 12 other militants following a recent military operation carried out by NDS personnel, Xinhua quoted the country's national spy agency as saying in a statement.
Arms and ammunition were also seized in the raid, the statement said.
The district has been the scene of sporadic clashes between the Taliban and government soldiers since January 10 when Afghan security forces recaptured the district bordering Tajikistan.
The Taliban ran over the district in October 2015.
