15 Afghan Taliban killed since Saturday

A total of 24 militants have been killed in different parts of the country during security operations launched by Afghan police with the help of army since Saturday, the government said Sunday.

"Units of police in conjunction with the national army have carried out series of cleanup operations in Logar, Kandahar, Kunduz, Farah and Helmand provinces over the past 24 hours during which 15 Taliban rebels have been killed, one injured and 10 others arrested," Xinhua quoted interior ministry in a statement.

There was no immediate reaction from the Taliban.
