An additional 300 US soldiers arrived in Poznan, western Poland, on Wednesday after Nato decided to reinforce its eastern flank on Russia's border.
The troops arrived from Frankfurt and joined close to 1,000 others, US armour and heavy material already on Polish soil, Efe news reported.
A series of ceremonies are scheduled across Poland on Saturday to welcome the troops
Zagan Base in southeast Poland will be the main welcoming venue for the US soldiers with the attendance of Polish Prime Minister Beata Szydlo and Defence Minister Antoni Macierewicz.
The current deployment of US troops in Poland reaches 4,000, supported by 90 tanks, 18 self-propelled howitzers, 144 Bradley combat vehicles and 400 Humvee wheeled vehicles.
After their first joint manoeuvres in Poland, the units will be deployed to Bulgaria, Romania and the Baltic states of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia.
With every step Nato takes to reinforce its presence on the Russian border, Moscow responds with an equal or larger counter-deployment of troops and weapons.
