40th edition of 'Indian Railway Track' book released

Railway Minister Mallikarjun Kharge Wednesday released the ruby jubilee - 40th year - edition of the 'Indian Railway Track' - Design, Construction & Maintenance book here.

The book is authored by civil engineer M.M. Agarwal who served in the Indian Railways for 33 years and retired from the post of chief engineer.

This is the 19th revised edition of the book, which was originally written in 1973. The book has since been revised almost every two years to include the latest technical developments in rail tracks around the world with special reference to Indian Railways.

The current edition contains 30 updated chapters covering the entire spectrum of track technology including its design, construction, maintenance and modernization from the fundamental.
