The Uttar Pradesh government on Sunday effected a major overhaul of the top bureaucracy, transferring 67 IAS officials including five of the principal secretary-level.
Prabhat Kumar, principal secretary, micro-irrigation, has now been posted as the resident commissioner in New Delhi, and will be replaced by Renuka Kumar, while Kumar Kamlesh has been sent to child welfare.
Debashish Panda, principal secretary, home, has been given additional charge of prisons.
Ashutosh Niranjan, who was director, information, has been moved to Gonda as district magistrate and will be replaced by Amit Kishore, currently the chief development officer of Rampur.
As many as 26 district magistrates have also been shifted, including those of Mainpuri, Amethi, Lakhimpur Kheri, Farukkhabad and Ballia.
