Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath flagged off the Swacchta Marathon here on Monday, officials said.
Uttar Pradesh's ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Mahendranath Pandey and Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma were also present on the occasion.
Adityanath made the people take a vow to maintain cleanliness. Hundreds of people along with BJP workers participated in the marathon.
The Adityanath government has entrusted the responsibility to organise the marathon to the state ministers, MPs, MLAs and BJP office bearers.
Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Maurya participated in the marathon in Kanpur, Power Minister Shrikant Sharma was in Agra and Urban Development Minister Suresh Khanna was in Varanasi for the marathon.
