Air India SATS Airport Services (AISATS) on Thursday said it has invested a further Rs.57 crore in new ground support equipment (GSE) at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport.
"This investment is part of the Rs.85 crore invested in GSE by AISATS in the past one year," the company, which is a 50:50 joint venture between state-run Air India and SATS Ltd, said in a statement here.
"The GSE deployed will not only enhance service delivery standards but also improve operational efficiency and compliance with local airport regulations," it added.
AISATS said it currently handles around 50 percent of the daily scheduled flights at IGI airport.
"To ensure seamless services and improved faster turnaround time without compromising safety, AISATS has deployed a whole range of newly-acquired motorised and non-motorised handling equipment," it said.
"April 20, 2015 marked the fifth anniversary for AISATS as a company providing airport ground and cargo-handling services in India," the company's chief executive Willy Ko said.
"Since our incorporation five years ago, we have invested more than Rs.160 crore in ground support equipment -- a demonstration of AISATS' full commitment to its customer airlines," he added.
