AFC Ajax ended the year as the Eredivisie football league leaders after they beat De Graafschap 2-1 at the Amsterdam Arena here.
Although Ajax on Sunday played a bad first half, the home team came in front after Arek Milik headed in a free-kick by Nemanja Gudelj. The visitors, bottom of the Eredivisie, surprisingly came back through Kristopher Vida, but Riechedly Bazoer volleyed home the match winning goal in the 70th minute, reports Xinhua.
Also on Sunday Feyenoord Rotterdam suffered a 1-3 defeat against NEC on the final match round of 2015. Tonny Vilhena put the visitors in front in Nijmegen, but in the second half NEC bounced back through Janio Bikel, Anthony Limbombe and Christian Santos.
PSV Eindhoven beat PEC Zwolle 3-2; Vitesse beat FC Twente 5-1, while Heracles Almelo defeated FC Groningen 2-1.
Ajax finished the first half of the season with 41 points from 17 matches, followed by reigning champions PSV (38), Feyenoord (36), Heracles Almelo (30) and VItesse (28).
