Serbian tennis player Ana Ivanovic will be participating in the Sydney International between January 10-15, thanks to a wild card invitation she received from the organising committee.

After her elimination from the 2016 Auckland Open against Briton Naomi Broady, the Serbian announced through social media a "Change of plans!" confirming that she will be playing in Sydney "as their Wild Card!", reports Efe.

The Sydney International will be Ivanovic's second preparatory tournament before the Australian Open, the season's first Grand Slam, held between January 18-31.
