Arsenal midfielder Santi Carzola on Wednesday revealed that his return to football can be further delayed after he underwent another surgery for discomfort in the achilles tendon.
The Spaniard had earlier undergone multiple operations, resulting in the loss of eight centimetres from the tendon in his right ankle.
"Some discomfort in the tendon that had dragged in the last few days. I have had to undergo surgery," the 32-year-old tweeted.
"It is delaying the date of my return to the pitch. I maintain the hope and motivation to enjoy my great passion -- football," Carzola added.
The midfielder has not played for the English football club since October 2016.
