Two-time champions India started its Asia Cup Hockey campaign with a 8-0 thrashing of Oman at the Sultan Azlan Shah Stadium here Saturday.
India scored four goals each in both halves and dominated the proceedings, but high performance manager and interim coach Roelant Oltmans will be worried with the penalty corner conversions of the young team. India managed just two out of the six chances that came their way.
Madeep Singh (3rd, 40th) and Ramandeep Singh (17th, 45th) scored a brace each while dragflickers V.R.Raghunath (28th), Rupinder Pal Singh (34th) and Malak Singh (47th) and S.K. Uthappa (70th) struck once.
India next face defending champions South Korea in their second match of Pool B, Monday.
