Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on Tuesday condoled the death of President Pranab Mukherjee's wife Suvra Mukherjee.
"Shocked and saddened to hear the news of Suvra Mukherjee's demise. My heartfelt condolences to Pranab Mukherjee and his bereaved family," Gogoi said in a condolence message.
Stating that she was an illustrious exponent of Rabindra Sangeet, Gogoi said Suvra Mukherjee's death was an irreparable loss to the world of music and was bound to create a void in the fraternity of Rabindra Sangeet in particular and society in general.
"I express my deepest sympathy to the bereaved family and pray to the almighty for eternal bliss of the departed soul," Gogoi added.
Suvra Mukherjee died in New Delhi on Tuesday morning after prolonged illness.
