Spanish champions FC Barcelona announced on Friday the extension of midfielder Sergio Busquets' contract for the next five years, with a buyout clause of 200 million euros ($223 million).
His contract includes an option for an extension of two more seasons until June 2023, according to the number of matches he will play in these seasons, reports Efe.
Busquets, born in Barcelona in 1988, debuted with the first team under the leadership of coach Pep Guardiola.
Since then he has become a key player in the plans of all Barcelona team coaches.
He is expected to sign the contract extension in the coming days before joining Spain's training camp to prepare for Euro 2016.
