To counter the rising threat of cyber crimes across the state, the West Bengal government will be setting up a cyber security centre, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said on Wednesday.
"The state government has decided to establish the West Bengal Cyber Security Centre of Excellence (WBCS-CoE) to deal with increasing cyber-offences in the State.
"It will be an apex body for dealing with all cyber-security related issues including creating awareness among common people on threats associated with it," said Banerjee.
Mamata Banerjee also said courses on "Data Science" and "Cyber-Security" will be introduced in colleges across the state, to increase employability of students.
