BJP attacks Mamata for criticising Centre's policies

West Bengal BJP President Dilip Ghosh on Friday accused the Mamata Banerjee government of resorting to vengeful politics by registering false cases against BJP leaders and termed the Trinamool supremo's allegations of harassment against the centre as "laughable".

"She is talking more about Narada (sting footage) and Saradha (Ponzi scam) cases than us. She had previously threatened that her administration would take counter actions if her party leaders are arrested and as per her wish the police started false cases against some of our leaders," Ghosh told the media.

"Even after the main accused in the Jalpaiguri child trafficking case openly confessed that she has neither met nor does she know any BJP leader in person, some of our leaders are still given notice for inquiry in the case by the state police. Such vengeful politics is going on in Bengal," he alleged.

The BJP leader said Banerjee and her party's constant criticism of demonetisation and GST showed how she was blatantly opposing the centre to gain political mileage.

"While the entire country believed that demonetisation was a firm step by (Prime Minister Narendra) Modi to fight the issue of black money and corruption and supported him, Mamata Banerjee was most vocal in her protest.

"On the other side, GST was levied to simplify the Indian tax system and stop people from evading tax payment but Banerjee is opposing that too and accusing BJP of misusing the money. Such blame is ridiculous," Ghosh said.

Ghosh claimed that Banerjee's disapproval of the implementation of the Aadhar card is connected to the illegal infiltration into Bengal from Bangladesh and the presence of several Bangladeshi terrorist organisations in the state.

"It is possible that the Bangladeshi refugees who are illegally migrating to Bengal and becoming Trinamool activists and the members of terrorist organisations like Jamat who are hiding in the state with the help of them would be exposed if the Aadhar card is implemented. May be that's why she is opposing it," Ghosh said.

Ridiculing Banerjee's call to the masses to oust the BJP from the nation, Ghosh said it is her party that was facing the anger of the common people everywhere in the state starting from the hills of Darjeeling to riot-hit Basirhat.
