The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) said Friday that it will join hands with separatists in Jammu and Kashmir only if they joined the national mainstream.

Addressing the media, BJP national general secretary Ram Madhav said his party would never team up with Kashmiri separatists.

"We will join hands with them only if they join the national mainstream," Madhav said.

Without naming either the National Conference or the Peoples Democratic Party, he said the BJP's top priority was to demolish dynastic rule in the state -- "whether of a father and son or a father and daughter".
