The Bharatiya Janata Party on Thursday indicated that it will finalise seat sharing deal with its allies in Bihar for the upcoming assembly polls by the first week of next month.
"We had informal talks on seat sharing with the leaders of LJP, RLSP and HAM (Secular) over the seat-sharing arrangements and formal talks will be held in the first week of September," BJP general secretary and state in charge Bhupendra Yadav said here in a press conference.
BJP's comments came days after Lok Janshakti Party and Rashtriya Lok Samata Party had demanded that the seat-sharing arrangement be done within a week.
Yadav also accused Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar of playing politics over the special package announced by the central government.
"Rs. 1.25 lakh crore package announced by the prime minister will change the future of Bihar and write a new chapter of development in the state," he said.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to address a rally in Bhagalpur, which will complete first phage of party's Parivartan rallies.
Soon after it, party's state unit will begin formal talks on seat sharing.
