A CBI court here Wednesday rejected the Talwars' application for adjournment of recording the statement of accused dentist couple Rajesh and Nupur Talwar in the Aarushi-Hemraj double-murder case.
Special Judge S. Lal stated that after completion of the testimonies of the prosecution evidences, trial should be initiated on a day-to-day basis.
Justice Lal rejected the Talwars' application for adjournment and summoned them to record their statement May 30.
In its seven-page order rejecting the Talwars' plea to summon 13 CBI officials as witnesses, the court observed that the prosecution had produced reliable witnesses.
The CBI opposed their application for the adjournment saying that the Talwars were using "delaying tactics" and that their request should be rejected.
Aarushi, 14, was found murdered at her parents' Noida residence May 16, 2008. The body of their servant Hemraj was found the next day on the terrace of the house.
