The 42nd World Bridge Team championship will be held here from September 26 to October 10 for the Bermuda Bowl (Open event), Venice Cup (women) and D'Orsi Bowl (seniors), according to a press release from the Bridge Federation of India here on Saturday.
Competitors from 35 countries are expected to vie for honours in this biennial championship after qualifying from a field of 107 through an elaborate process of inter-zone competitions.
BFI president N.R. Kribakara Moorthy along with other officials met Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Sarbananda Sonowal in New Delhi and sought government support which the minister assured, the release said.
