Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has disclosed that he is already negotiating a contract extension with the club.
Ancelotti expressed his contentment after leading the club to their 10th Champions League title last season. They are at the top of the Spanish La Liga standings this current campaign, reports Xinhua.
"I hope to be part of the history of Real Madrid, not just for winning the 10th Champions League," said Ancelotti Monday, adding: "I have a contract until 2016 and we are talking about my renewal."
The coach expressed his satisfaction with his players, calling them, "the most serious professionals" he had worked with. He also praised the organisation of the club.
"Real Madrid is a very well structured club," said the Italian, highlighting that the club also enjoyed "formidable brand management".
The experienced coach pointed out that recent results highlighted that the huge transfer fees paid for players such as Gareth Bale and James Rodriguez were justified.
"Bale is one of the most important players in the world and when he is fit he will always be in my first team, while Rodriguez doesn't just have technical qualities, he is also an athlete with great stamina."
The 55-year-old said he has a different coaching style than his predecessor, Jose Mourinho who is now the boss of English club Chelsea.
But said that Mourinho is "a great coach", before commenting that coaches these days merited high salaries because of the need to manage a "more complex game".
"In the past squads only had 16 players and played once a week, now we have squads of 25 players so coaches have to rotate players," he explained.
