The deep sea trans-shipment port at Colachel, in Kanyakumari district of Tamil Nadu, will cost Rs 27,570 crore, parliament was told on Thursday.
"As per the Techno Economic Feasibility Report (TEFR) the estimated project cost is Rs 27,570 crore. The port is proposed to be developed through investment by government and public-private partnership mode," said Minister of State for Shipping Pon Radhakrishnan in a written reply.
The development of the new port at Enayam near Colachel will take time from 2017 till 2030.
