Jammu and Kashmir remained in the grip of a cold wave on Thursday, with Jammu city's maximum temperature tipped to fall below Srinagar's.
"The maximum temperature in Jammu city is expected to hover around 10 degrees while in Srinagar it may be around 13 degrees, seven degrees above normal at this time of the season," a Met Official said.
The minimum temperature was 6.9 degrees Celsius in Jammu city, 3.5 in Katra town, 1.7 in Batote, 5.2 in Bannihal, minus 1.2 in Bhaderwah and 2.9 degrees Celsius in Udhampur town on Thursday.
The minimum temperature was minus 4.3 degrees in Srinagar, minus 7.3 in Pahalgam and minus 5.6 in Gulmarg.
In Ladakh region, Leh town recorded minus 16.0 degrees, while the minimum temperature in Kargil settled at minus 16.4 degrees Celsius.
"The weather is likely to remain dry and cold in Jammu and Kashmir till January 27," the official said.
