Mexico City, June 9 (IANS/RIA Novosti) Hundreds of people took part in the "Naked Bike Ride" in Mexico City to demand respect for cyclists on roads.
Organisers said the aim of Saturday's event was to show car drivers how vulnerable a human body is and to make them treat cyclists with respect.
Such events have been held in the Mexican capital since 2006.
Some participants were absolutely naked, while others wore underwear or had their bodies painted.
Though police accompanied the cyclists, they did not interfere.
The World Naked Bike Ride is held annually in various cities around the world since 2004. The event is aimed at promoting safe cycling, protesting against oil dependency and encouraging the use of bicycles instead of cars.
