Singer-turned-politician Babul Supriyo Monday cautioned aspiring crooners against banking entirely on playback singing as a career option, but said he would try to help wannabe singers "as much as possible".
The Bharatiya Janata Party Lok Sabha member said he would try help shape the dreams of youngsters in his constituency Asansol.
"There is expectation from me as a singer. I will try to encourage them as and when the opportunity comes. I will try to help youngsters in my constituency as much as I can. However, I will advise them not to bank entirely on playback singing," he told reporters in Asansol.
Acknowledging the talented youth in West Bengal, he said: "Work hard and sing well but don't park your dreams entirely on playback singing."
