A man on a drinking binge nearly burned down his sister's home in Britain by lighting a barbecue in the front room to fry sausages.
Dariusz Garbacki, 28, began the fire in a disposable barbecue and poured lighter fluid on it to get it going. To help fuel the fire he ripped three internal doors off their hinges and tore up floorboards at the house in Wolverhampton city, Daily Mail reported.
He even disabled a smoke alarm system so that neighbours would not be alerted to what he was doing. Garbacki then fled the house after realising the damage he had caused but was arrested.
He pleaded guilty to arson and was awarded three years in jail last week.
