Bridgetown (Barbados), June 22 (IANS/CMC) The Barbados government says it will honour Emmerson Boyce who captained Wigan Athletic to championship honours in the 2013 FA Cup in England.
Boyce, who was born in England to Barbadian parents, was expected to arrive here Friday to launch his foundation for less fortunate children, reports CMC.
Sports Minister Stephen Lashley was to host a reception in honour of the Barbados footballer at the Hilton.
Boyce started his career at the age of 19 but made his international debut at the age of 28.
