At least five persons were killed and six injured on Saturday evening in a shooting incident in Pakistan's southern port city of Karachi, police said.
Xinhua news agency quoted Police chief of Pakistan's southern Sindh province A.D. Khawja as saying that the incident took place when four unidentified gunmen riding on two motorcycles opened fire at a group of Shia Muslims who were making arrangements for a religious gathering in a street in Nazim Abad area of Karachi.
A woman and four men were among the deceased, while the injured people included three women and two children.
Police said the assailants used 9mm pistols in the attack and managed to escape.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.
