Four of the six men who gang raped a young student in Bihta near the Bihar capital were arrested Friday, police said.
The higher secondary student and resident of Bhojpur district was gang raped by the six in Bihta, about 30 km from here, Patna Senior Superintendent of Police Jitendra Rana said.
Four of the six were arrested Friday, and police teams were conducting raids to nab the other two, he said.
According to local police officials, the incident took place when the girl was meeting a male friend near a small bridge, when the six men overpowered them and gang raped her.
Rana said a medical examination of the girl was conducted at the government referral hospital in Bihta Thursday.
Police forensic teams were collecting evidence related to the case, he said.
