Ghaziabad cop suspended for slapping woman

The police officer in Ghaziabad who slapped a young woman in a police station has been suspended, an officer said Wednesday.

Sub-Inspector Iftkar Quereshi had slapped the woman Monday. She and her male friend were taken to a police station after people complained that the duo were drinking in a car.

Police had booked the young woman in an attempt to cover up their excesses after the incident came to light Monday night.
