External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj met British Foreign Secretary William Hague here Tuesday and conveyed to him that British companies will be involved in the Bangalore-Mumbai economic corridor.
External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin said she also thanked Hague for the announcement that a statue of Mahatma Gandhi would be installed by early next year in Parliament Square in Britain.
Akbaruddin said economic relations between the two countries were "robust" and the two leaders discussed a variety of issues.
The proposed Bangalore-Mumbai economic corridor was among the issues discussed.
Sushma Swaraj told the visiting minister that the perspective plan will be ready by the end of this year and British companies will be involved in the infrastructure project.
Hague is on a visit to India July 7-9.
