The Haryana government has proposed a pension scheme for widowers in the state, it was announced on Wednesday.
Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Krishan Kumar Bedi said the government was contemplating a pension scheme for widowers on the pattern of widow pension.
The matter is with the Finance Department and under consideration, Bedi told the Haryana Assembly.
He said widowers above 45 years of age, who have children and have not remarried, would be eligible under the pension scheme.
