Actor Ryan Gosling has started shooting for his directorial debut "How to Catch a Monster" and Christina Hendricks, who plays the key role in the fantasy noir, says its the largest role she has ever done.
The film is about a single mother, who lives in a vanishing city and is brought into a dark underworld when her son discovers a road that leads to an underwater village.
Hendricks, who plays Joan Harris in the TV series "Mad Men", plays the mother.
"Ryan called me and asked me if I was interested in doing this film, and I said 'One, of course, yes, and two, why me? And three, I don't want to disappoint you'. It's the largest role I've ever had, so this is one I'm definitely aware of my anxiety about," eonline.com quoted Hendricks as saying.
The film also stars Saoirse Ronan and Eva Mendes and is slated for a 2014 release.
