The third edition of Hockey India League (HIL) early next year will see the addition of the Pune franchise which was bought by Deccan Water Treatment Pvt. Ltd. owner Anibran Sarkar Friday.
"We welcome Deccan Water Treatment as the new franchise for next season's HIL. These are exciting times for us as a new city will be able to witness the tournament and the amount of people we will be reaching out too will also be more in number," HIL chairman Narinder Batra said.
Speaking on the ownership of the new franchise, Sarkar said: "Having closely followed the developments of hockey in our country, I felt a need to be a part and contribute to the sport."
